Hey peeps. Yeah im having a little problem with my SSD. First off the Specs: its a Mushkin Chronos 120gb (MKNSSDCR120GB) running on the SATA600 port of my MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) with windows 7 on it. THe first three month everything was fine but lately i am getting many BSODs and Systemfreezes at random and sometimes the SSD is not found by the system so i can`t boot. This is happing more than once a day for the past few weeks and it really annoying. SSDlife Pro says it`s fine. I`m using the newest Bios for the SSD. Is this a sign that it might die soon? I already reinstalled my windows once to see if the problem is just a f*cked up installation but that does not seem to be the problem. Can i do anything else to save the drive?

Hope someone can help or just plain answer if my SSD is dead or not.

Friendly greetings

I just went and seen there actually is a new firmware update. downloaded it, installed it but it seems it did not work cause the tool from mushkin does not show a new FW REV. Any suggestions?

Second Edit xD: I just realized my ssd isn`t running in ahci mode. that should normally be on if i remember right. tried to put it on but if i do activate ahci my pc BSODs in teh windows boot screen. Firmware-Update didn`t work either. Soemthing strange is going on here and i really need help.

The drive may be locked. It happened to my OCZ twice. If mushkin makes a boot/flash utility you can boot into it and do a drive unlock, or a hot plug the drive. Unplug it while its powered on to see to see if your drive gets recognized. I just lost my OCZ drive today, so i'm starting the RMA process. I was looking at the cheap prices of the mushkins as of late, but have been reading alot of reliability issues. I know its frustrating!

So i actually fixed the problem it seems. I had to change a few stats in the registry, then activate ahci, then flash the ssd-bios and now everything was fine for a hole day. maybe that was all the problem. hopefully the drive stayes stable for a while now.
