SSD Arrangement

Hi guys, let me start by saying sorry. I'm not tech savvy at all so am probably well out of my depth here!

I am looking to use the speed of SSD's across a few things.
- Windows
- Games
- Recording Games in 1080p

Currently my storage devices are.
- 120gb Samsung 830 (Currently running windows)
- 1tb Seagate Barracuda (for all other media)

Should I just be straight forward and go get two more SSD's. I am thinking of getting another 120gb for Games and 240gb+ for game footage.
Would raid0 be of any benefit to me, Or is it just for benchmark results when talking about SSD's?

I was also wondering if you guys think I should stick with Samsung Pro Series or if Corsair would be worth hopping over too, keep in mind its already more than I would like to spend.

Thanks for reading through all my rubbish if you got this far, much appreciated.

EDIT:
Would I even need the Pro series for the SSD I would be recording to?
Rather than get the 240GB Pro Series I could get the 500GB Basic for £50 more (after cashback)
Even the basic should have sufficient speeds for 1080p recording right?

for 'normal' use the 840 regulars are fine, if you want it to do more heavy lifting and you're recording footage to and from it. Personally I'd go with the 840 Pro just because they have a slightly better/reliable memory type. Also if you're recording in uncompressed 1080p I'd go for the biggest you can afford, no sense if you're filling it up very quickly.

You won't need to Raid 0 them to get sufficient bandwidth to record in 1080p. So long as it's on Sata 3 with a Sata 3 cable, you should be golden.

Yes it is uncompressed 1080p. 500GB should be well enough for the time being as well.

Unfortunately the 840 Pro 500gb is out of my price range. I wouldnt be able to afford the smaller SSD to install the games on. My budget is around £350 for both.

A 128GB 840 Pro + 500GB 840 Basic comes in at around £330
Two 256GB 840 Pro's also come in at around £330 as well.

I assume the second option could be a way to go? If I had them in raid0 they should cope with the uncompressed 1080p and run the games fast, right? I also wouldnt be limited to just 256gb for footage that way.

But is the more reliable memory in the Pro worth shaving 100GB for?

A hybrid is kind of dependent on your motherboard, you set the drives up a single thing. Then all the writes go to the ssd, and then get moved to the hdd, so your read/write speed are faster kinda thing.

So far as I'm aware it's dependent on your motherboard though?

I'd still go with the most space you can get on an 840 pro personally.

So if I raid0 two 256GB Pro's they should have enough read/write about them to play games off of and write 1080p to simultaneously?
Its just that I heard that its best to have SSD's performing only one action for best performance.

I can then set aside 80GB or so for games and the rest can be for recordings. Thats as far as my budget can take me in the Pro Series. Assuming Raid0 will meet my needs. If not it will have to be 256GB for recordings and 128GB for Games

Yeah loading stuff is loads faster. To answer the 'can i play and record' probably, but tbh when you're in the game and it's all loaded it doesn't really use the disk that much. Depends on the game.

Bf3 is NOTABLY faster on an SSD..

Some ASUS motherboards have this built in, But Corsair has a line of SSDs that come with the software to do it. (Accelerator series)
