Spec me a Graphics card

Not really advice for a new build but more of a case of choosing the best graphics card.

Currently using the CPU IGP, until i find a suitable replacement

I'm not interested in mega high end cards, since i honestly don't think they are worth it, and only really shines if you use them to the full potential at high resolutions.

* I'm not fussed whether they are made by Ati or Nvidia.
* Has to last me a good few years (~3 years)
* I only play games under 1920x1080. Hell i play CSGO at 800x600
* Playable fps at high-ultra high quality under the above resolution
* Best bang for buck
* Low TDP (Gotta watch out for my electricity bills)
* Price under £250

The fact is most graphics cards.. particularly the ATi variants are mega expensive due to btc and ltc mining, which is a pain in the butt especially for people who have no interest in mining.

Current Spec rig:
Asus Maximus vi Formula
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16Gb 2400mhz CL10
i7 4770K (will be over clocked)
Corsair AX760i
Corsair 750D
EK+Primochill Acrylic Watercooled

Nah the 750 and 750ti are out atm and i think they are testing the water with the low end gpu and updating the line from the bottom up, so the 8XX series will be the maxwell and they should be good on power and perf for the money.

that way you could maybe save the cash, and go for one a little higher up maybe the 860-870 and it may last a little longer and run at 1080 for cs with everything ramped up :)
the 870 possibly could have the same performance as my 780 now ya never know :)
or as i said go 760/770 or go for second hand 680 or something still a beast of a card :D even the 670 tbh
but just thought you'd want the benefits of warranty and stuffs.
which assist with longevity
but i will admit i'm a little bit of a green fan boy lol so dont take just my word for it.

Warranty? Whats warranty lol..

Cheap works both ways since i will be water-cooling the card and uv modding it.. so it would invalidate the warrant :P

But that aside, i have been looking at the 770's but wasn't sure how much of a price drop would make when the new line comes out. How old are the 770's now anyways?

erm i got my gpu around june and they had not been out that much before. so coming up to a year now i guess. and 770 is still not a bad card :)

guess 770 it in.. now i gotta wait till payday as i'm strapped for cash on a new rig spending spree this month :(

Why the sudden need for "best bang for buck" and worries over a few extra quid on your electricity bill.....when every other part of your build screams excess and indulgence?!? Whats wrong with the 280x you say you have in your signature?

280x was the card I was planning on buying until I saw the tdp rating and so pulled out and not buy it. At the moment I'm running under the igp
