I have built my PC recently, and i cannot get it to recognise sound devices! not thru the front panel OR the rear ports. If i put anything in, it simply tells me there is not any sound device. I have plugged in the front panel hd audio header to the mobo, and turned on hd audio in the bios. Help me!!!

its always been plug and play, if u mean the speakers. I havent installed any extra system sound stuff. i do have an asus media disc. maybe i should use it?

I must question why you're running a rig of that spec and don't have a dedicated sound card though?

Meh, with the newer onboard it doesn't matter that much. If/when a card gets released that has full sound features for Vista I may buy one but until then I don't see the point. Dunno what his reason is but that's mine

Well X-Fi offers the first two at least I know. If I had to upgrade it'd be nice to have the auzentech for Dolby out though.
