Sound keeps repeating it self Crysis

my pc is acting very weird last days i fired up crysis and i noticed everytime i shoot the sound keeps repeating itself so i would hear the same sound 100 times lol i suspect its the mobo though xD its aging now but maybe its normal lol

It's a long shot but you could try disabling vista's sound enhancements. Go to control pannel > sound > select the device you're using for playback > click "properties" > select the "enhancements" tab > tick "disable all enhancements" / "disable all sound effects".

Also if under the "advanced" tab there's an "enable audio enhancements" option, untick that as well.

Does the same thing happen in any other games?
