hey

I have win 7 ultimate, not had the pc long but my desktop is sort of getting full of shortcuts to all my games.

Is there some sort of cool desktop thing where all your shortcuts are easily accessible without them all plastered over my lovely desktop?

Couple of options:

1. Stick them in a folder called games

2. Use a 'dock' program such as rocket dock, where you can launch your applications from.

3. Pin to taskbar as SIN suggested.

Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard has a button to open this game folder.

Steam is good for this.

I've pinned Steam to the taskbar, just click the button it loads the library, then double click any of my games.

not all my games are in steam though

You can add your "non-steam" games to steam by adding the launcher.exe file. Under the "Games" tab at the top there is an option to "Add a non-steam game". Click on that and find the launcher.exe or a similar file in the given list, or if it isn't there browse for the appropriate file and add it to steam. This way you will be able to launch a game not bought via Steam.

a sys_tray game launcher would be really easy to make, but the down side would be that this small app would use resources (as any sys_tray item does), but less than rocketdock!!!

but, it is pure laziness, in my eyes - lol

Use a dock like Stardock or rocketdock, I use Stardock you just add a shortcut to the .exe of the game on the dock and wolla it also hides off screen.

Do you have the links for demonoid?

There is is one in my last post but I think you have to have register with them to be able to see all of the different ones I think it only shows you a couple if you are not registered. If the link in my last post does not work try this one

Before you can install a custom theme you will need to download the UniversalThemePatcher-x64

To center the icons in the middle of the task bar though you will need to do this

http://www.sevenforu...nter-icons.html

To change the icons you will need to download some different icons, you can also get those from demonoid. The ones I am using are called Token icons light.

http://browse.devian...1&q=token+icons

To change the icons you need to make a shortcut of the programs you want to pin to your taskbar and put them on your desktop. Then right click on them and choose properties then choose change icon. Then select the folder where you have put the icons and choose the one you want. When you have changed the icon right click on the shortcut and pin it to the taskbar then you can delete the shortcut from your desktop.

To do the Windows Explorer one you have to go to C:\Windows scroll down till you see Explore icon and then right click and create shortcut then do the same as you did with the other shortcuts.

If you want to changer the start button you will need Windows 7 Start Button Changer. For different start buttons search for start orbs on Demonoid.
