Firefox 1.0.4 release

recently some conceptual (problems/potential attacks discovered but not carried out) flaws have been exposed in firefox (security holes and JS attacks)

Interesting. I'm gonna sit back, relax and take a look at both PS3 and XBOX 360 after they're out and see which ones the best...

yea its usin the cell but althought the sell is 10 time faster than current chips it is only so dye to the SPE units which are not general purose processong units (like an x86/PPC processor) the SPEs are more like Vertex processors so very suited to large math (like that in games )

Lost in all the shouting, however, is a different (and perhaps more-important question): Does the 3DMark series actually predict game performance? Is it a reliable benchmark for measuring video cards in today’s games? ...

This is one of the big catches of both 03 and 05, as the designers of the benchmark have to guess ahead of time how these new tools are going to be used by the big boys coding actual games in the future. This is where the first difficulty lies; what happens if they guess wrong? Then you are left with a benchmark that bases its score on code that doesn't relate to the future experience they claim to represent. I see this as a current problem with 3DMark...

Despite Futuremark assuring us that their benchmark is shader heavy, none of the individual game tests predicted this result. If games are going to be going more in that direction (shader heavy), 3DMark05 might already be outdated as a performance metric....

I certainly am impressed that it made as good of a showing as it did, but I don't think it's safe to use 3DMark scores in marketing, at least to promote any product to consumers.

This compares Intels EE CPU and AMD's FX-55 CPU with 2 x 512mb GPU's!

Funnily enough...the FX-55 comes out on top of Intel's EE!!
