Snow White Competition 2nd Place Rig Pics

Game Over

New member
Ok Guys, here goes....

I was the 2nd Place winner for last Christmas competition here at OC3D, Later dubbed "Snow White Competition".

First off Let me thank everyone.

1. Tom, Jim and everyone else at OC3D for this competition.

2. The Random number generator for choosing my number!

3. Dougdiamond for helping hook me up with a shipper/courier.

4. Shaun Rowley at ESS-EXPRESS Shipping. If anyone needs something shipped from Toms area on the Isle of Wight, Shaun is your guy.

5. And all the sponsors that donated all the parts for the rigs.

Not only did I win the Rig but also won some little goodies in a separate competition within the main competition where we all created some graphic art for the Snow White competition, Below are my submissions that won me some of the goodies you will see further down the page here.

OC3D staff hard at work, can you find Tom?

You probably wonder what took so long, Well I had a lot going on, Tom is always very busy and was away for that trade show and the such, and my local shipper on the Isle was in the middle of a move of his business and did not have internet for almost a month. It took quite some time to get to a point where all 3 of us were all ready to go at the same time. Better late than never.

Shipping started with Shaun at Ess-Express (link above) (2 boxes, one with Mobo, Case, SSD and Ram. Second with Cooler, GPU and goodies).

The packages had a bunch of transfers and movement in the 6,000 mile trip from Isle of wight to my house. They had 7 transfers in total, Each transfer to a new vehicle adds to the chance of damage, which there was a little....

Here is condensed version of the trip

The new kid and the old man.

This is how I would turn on my old PC, by touching these wires together, sometimes my desk fan being turned on or off would activate my PC to fire up.

Yep, she is ugly.

SDC11194.jpg

SDC11195.jpg

Shame about the damage to the case but at least it arrived in one piece. Enjoy your new rig and your Gigabyte and Kingston goodies Game Over

Congrats, I don't think there's anyone who deserves it more

Shame about the damage and you should really get a HD monitor

It's also ashame about kamii.

oh right, yeah he mentioned he has internet problems. Would have been nice to see the 1st place rig set up in its new home
wink.gif

Although i havent seen any posts from the OC3D team stating hes actually got the prize yet
huh.gif

He just never posts. He was last online 5th of march. Just wish he was more greatful.

ye he just came for the compitition then left

i joind for the comp as well and loved the forum and now have over 500 posts now

plus got to say this is one of the best forums on the net that i have found

and a big thanks to tom and the rest of the admins for all the competitions and all the hard work thay do on the forums

Gutted about that dent, must of been a hell of smack to have pushed the corner in, no doubt a forklift or one of the runners on/off the plane/truck.

Have you tried to coax it out from the inside? You may be able to make it a little easier on the eye?

Glad you like the goodie bag and thank you for putting all the effort into posting about your prize fella

nice one dude - i had the exact same bunch of goodies too - but i didn't want to say anything.
wink.gif

shame about the damage - it must have happened during the flight/freight exchange - at least it won't affect the awesome performance improvements you are now getting/seeing, compared to the olde PC.

nice pics - put my small amount of piccies to shame.

once again, well done mate
biggrin.gif

lol i was thinking tipex too! My white side panel got a nasty scratch... a quick dab of tipex sorted it out nicely
biggrin.gif

But like tom said.. try and beat it back into shape from the inside. However, you may risk cracking off more of your paint job so take it slow
wink.gif

Not tippex!

Get some of the Humbrol (or similar) enamel modeling paint pots and a fine brush
wink.gif

i have some excellent radiator enamel paint

would ship it to you, but the tin may get damaged !!!! lol

EDIT: on a serious note

the area will need to be sanded (and primed) before painting

the roof of the R3 easily comes off

mask off the fan vents and all the areas not needing to be touched up and maybe use and small can off white car spray-paint

wink.gif

TIP: also, if you are thinking of panel beating it out... do not beat the metal directly... place the surface between two other solid flat surfaces, and then apply pressure (hammer) those instead

Grats again Game Over looks sweet and its a shame about the damage.
sad.gif
But from the looks and operational power on option of your old rig I doubt that dent has ya down at all lol
