Snow White 2011 Competition!

I'm not I know I got a decent computer.

I just figure a second computer would help me with my studies in Net+ and Server, when I finish my A+ soon.

The quicker I get that done, the quicker I get to Norway.

It wouldn't trust me. I have 2 computers and rarely use the second one. There is no point to it. Just put a hdd that is dedicated to your work. It saves you both time and money.

Why do you wan't xl-atx board again? Unless you wan't 4 way sli, and that means 4 580s, you don't need xl-atx boards. If you are going to run 2 590s or 6990s you won't need an xl-atx board I don't think, and to run all of your raids, you just need a raid card. All of that should fit in an e-atx board like the g1 assasin.

the 590's / 6990's are dual size.

They take up two slot's.

So that's four there only if two are being used.

That leave's the other three open for.

1x net card

1x audio card

8x Raid Card.

Cause I'm doing a mass raid.

In total it will take up 7 slot's.

If I could find a ATX board that could support all them at max speed I would.

The Dual Sized GPU's are basically two gpu's in one card.

Thus it's a Four way Crossfire / SLI.

does this one satisfy all that? newegg

For me there is a point to it.

I have goals I need to complete and I can't let anything stand in my way.

Not even the school which in itself is ungodly slow and has teacher's that don't even know.

How to boot from a DVD during startup.

Everything I do, I basically have to do it on my own.

Unless the teacher is sick and the school tech is filling in.

Having two computers will help me greatly in Net+.

And then after that Server 2008 is next in the class.

In the long run I'll probably use my main for my server unless I win 1st place in this contest.

xD

Supports only three way SLI.

I think everyone face's the same conundrum I am facing.

They all have all the feature's accept one.

Where it some natively support a fast memory.

They don't support the SLI / Crossfire.

If One supports the Crossfire and SLI.

They don't have the right expansion slot's and placement for them.

It's quite annoying.

Whatever you say fella. Again, I am speaking from experience. Its your money and you can do what you want, but I will tell you again that its anti-productive having 2 machines. You are just one person hence you only need one computer. If I where you I would perhaps consider a laptop, nothing else to be honest especially if its for your school.

Its available here: http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata...oduct_info&cPath=54_328_800&products_id=27972

That board is stupid crazy. Unless you are going to be doing some heavy 3d rendering or are in some way addicted to getting top marks in benchmarks and are single with no family living in your parent's basement, then it could be a choice. Otherwise, absolutely no point to it.

Have you ever seen one do a Cinebench run with two 6 cores? It's stupid crazy.

Edit: We should start getting on topic again or Tom will get angry.

I have seen one play video games with two six cores if that counts for anything.

Atleast we are talking about tech and not yugioh.

I don't think it does, width wise it might but hole size it won't.

You also got to remember that the psu sit's underneath so you got to subtract that too from it's total height.

I have one.. it is E-ATX.

On the name question.. meh that's a toughie. Stormtrooper would definitely fit the Phantom, though

Companion cube for the other two, anyone?

I'll so stick a little heart on the side panel

Supports only three way SLI.

But if you're running only 2 dual-gpu's don't you only need 2 x16 lanes, the cards themselves have a Nvidia NF200 chips or whatever on them to communicate between the gpu's on the circuit board?

Either way, this probably should be in a separate thread guys as it's not got a lot to do with the Snow White competition lol

Why would you need a second computer though?.. You'd only be able to operate 1 at a time.. If you wana work with a server jus buy a laptop and use the current rig s a server?..

If I won 1 I would give my current rig to my step dad and use the prize for sone serious render power

If i win any of those three, I'll play Shogun 2 till death or victory. Many times
