First of, the AMD question is off topic. And to answer you question, yes it will be backward compatible with AM3, but it won't have all it's features enabled if you do so. To get the full use out of it, such as the AMD equivalent of hyperthreading you'll need an AM3+ Motherboard.

I received mine yesterday, and if I don't have all the luck, I would settle for the random generator

A 386 was my first PC (which I unfortunatly don't have anymore)

It's disturbing, I have not recieved my e-mail yet?! -.-

Don't sweat it too much mate. Our mail server gets killed at times like this. Trying to send out tens of thousands of emails takes quite some time, and email providers like yahoo/msn/google tend to defer emails for 12hrs or more if they see our server spewing out thousands of messages to people on their services.

If you haven't received it by the end of the day today, PM me and I'll check the database.

Was the email sent to competition entrants only or everyone on your mailing list? i recieved it to 2 different email addresses.....im sure i only signed up to the competition once

1 email is my forum account, 1 is the account i would have signed up to the comp with

Main reason i ask is that i wouldn't want to be disqualified if somehow i've had multiple emails fall in the pot?

No probs, wasn't all that worried. I know you're all helpful and it'd be solved anyways. But I've got the mail now

My first was an IBM 386 SX16. 16Mhz of goodness lol 4Mbyte ram, and I recall installing a 387 math co-processor, making it a 386 DX! lol 20Mbyte HDD iirc too lol.

Would be nice to win something in this competition - always great comps on OC3D
