Snow White 2011 Competition!

My reasons for entering the contest are as following.

1. I'm from Romania, somewhat a joke of a country, ZERO options to buy this for myself.

2. I have a bullsht job, that pretty much just allows me to eat and pay the bills, but otherwise keeps me in a permanent state of broke-as-fckness.

3. My current rig pretty much needs carbon dating in order to get an exact date of assembly. It has a case with a bunch of broken fans, a jacked video card which beeps every time i watch a picture and regarding booting, its a luck based operation, being the main reason for me becoming religious due to so much praying. It also overheats and shuts down in the summer. All this topped by a 17" crt. Yeah, that bad. Don't laugh.

Avatar was slow and driery, possibly the most overhyped thing after Halo

Yep, the best thing about the film was the CGI & the final "fight".

Was a great concept, but the execution wasnt great

Silent Fans should not be called silent. i have a pair of sickle flow 120mm fans on a front of my computer. i can hear them rather well, its annoying.

I had one of these at the top rear of my HAF-X until recently and it didn't bother me.

Then I moved it inside the shroud which attaches between the hard disk cage and covers the ends of the graphics cards - to push more air over the gpu fans at the end of the cards.

At 7V I don't hear it, but at 12V it It is like a hurricane in this configuration. It is far louder than 4 x 200mm, 1 x 140mm fans, dual noctua DH14 fans and 2x GTX 570 fans combined. It is an abomination.

And worst of all it makes no impact at all at reducing my top GTX 570 max temperature. Not a degree lower than 85C without it. Useless.

Frankly these sickle flow fans seem to be purely cosmetic and can only push air around in unconfined spaces. They are useless and noisy pushing air through an occupied space.

Interestingly Tom is putting 6 of them around the radiator in his latest HAF-X project.

"Not the quietest of fans . . . ." I imagine he may say ;-)

Thx for the opportunity to vent :-) It'll get pulled when the motherboard gets exchanged.

Inception is pretty good, it's not as good as it was hyped up to be but still good and is one of the best films made in the last year.

I think the most over-hyped film was Avatar... Was still a good film, but im not a fan of 3D films in general. I'd rather watch a crisp High Def film in 2D!

I never pay attention to the "hype" of films, as with avatar I never watched it for a while until it was released on dvd and had no real idea what it was about so maybe that's why I enjoyed it more. Oh and big robot fighting meh that was 1 of my least favourite bits.

agentwd40, is this 28year old baby banned yet Tom? This guy should make a public apology for what he said. I think many people from this forum expect this if not ban him.

Reason I entered this comp= my little old q6600 and cheap as chips gtx260 is showing signs of old age, bit like me I think, lol. Would make my decade to win some thing like this, anyway I don't care if I don't win anything anyway it has been fun trying to keep up with twist's and turn's of this thread. lol .

Sup RealNeil!

I can't say I have a board preference quite yet. Worked with a few enthusiast boards, from ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte, and I guess it comes down to the bios options for me. I love the MSI overclocking features on my 890fx... nope, no preferance.

Love the quality of intel chips, but usually go AMD ( or build AMD for freinds ) based on the price point. Not a bad thing at all. Lovin my 1090T so... no preference here either

I guess for me it all depends on what the build is designed for

Personally myself.

I will go with any board if it has the feature's I want.

The First thing the school tech taught me was.

Go with a board that has all the feature's you want.

Processor wise.

I've always been a Intel Fan.

XD
