SMP

Will SMP actually utilize all 4 cores on a Ubuntu 12.04 as I have a bootable USB drive with it on, just needs F@H installed on it and the running.

If not then I will just have to shut down during the night time to let the computer and my bank account rest.

I was using a screenlet which had a cpu usage which was showing the cpus not being used much. I looked at systeminfo and that was showing all the cpu as being used. So there must be a fault with the screenlet app. I am going to install Ubuntu onto another drive and run folding off there to see how things go. My Win7 machine keeps crashing. Either the folding program stops working or the machine reboots. It is really weird since the machine can run for 2 days straight and then turn around and crash every 6-7 hours. Really a pain in the butt.

How is Linux mint working out? I tried it on Ubuntu 12.04 and I found that it won't use all off the cpu power. I am trying to get linux Mint working on an old laptop but having problems getting the stupid wireless drivers working. I think that I will get that figured out tomorrow.

seemed to get it working for the cpu... but not all the cores were working. Also couln't get the GPU's to work which is some what the problem with it.

I must be doing something wrong... my SMP test run is showing as below... seems really low considering i have heard folks getting 5-6 times the PPD i am seeing predicted.

going to try pausing both graphic cards and try getting a decent run of the SMP on windows 7.
as i noticed that the gpu's were using 25% of the cpu each leaving only 2 cores for the smp unit.
