Smoothing rivet heads??????

A quick question the rivets on the front of a case when you pull off the front bezel, can I file them down to make them flush with the case??? or will it affect the build of the case.

I thought about making my own front bezel due to the old one being damaged but I need a smooth surface to work on and its just the rivet head that's stopping me.

if you file them down then they will weaken and eventually (most likely when moving the case) pop out and it will fall apart. your best bet would be to build up your base over them and work from that smooth surface instead.

Yup, countersunk rivets will be flat instead of dome-shaped. They're just as strong and work great.

you can hit them with a punch if you want to try and flatten them out more but as said, counter sink them.
