Smashing up Raid 1

Well as a stupid fool I thought would be nice to have a nice raid 1 array without really reading about it.

Since have realsied backing up to my external is a far better plan

Thus I would like to split my raid 1 array...but I have no idea a) how b) if I can do it without formating... eepers

Everything ive read sugegst im gonna loose everything (doable but a pain the right royal) and frankly my mind set would be just to go buy another HD

Yep only way is to put everything on your raid array onto another disk or backup somewhere, then delete the array and format both disks.

well if i get bored in a reading week/slow week without the GF up ....otherwise bugger it lol
