Small talk & Chit chat

I don't have Instagram so sorry if this does not link correctly, but Henry Cavill is a PCGamer(favorite franchise is Total War) and because he's off work right now and doesn't start shooting Season 2 of Witcher till next month, he built a new PC... It's.. seductive :D
One of the best parts was watching it go from afternoon to basically midnight.. noob builder! Lol

Ive watched him painting warhammer. Hes a real nerd actually. And gets huge respect from me because he treats his dog like a brother or true member of the family and not some "pet".

Aye, we've all made a Faux Pas when building PCs. No one builds them perfect right from the word go. I for instance forgot the standoffs and shorted a motherboard with my first build

So I got results back from my COVID mail in test and apparently I'm positive yet I have no symptoms, I feel great, And I have been taking EVERY precaution known to mankind, Mask, Staying at least 6 feet away from people, If anyone coughs I immediately walk the other direction when I'm out shopping which is now only once every 2 weeks, I disinfect my hands as soon as I get in, I make sure to not touch my face AT ALL before I have washed my hands and legitimately about 20 other OCD things to make sure I'm safe yet somehow I'm COVID positive, Asymptomatic, Makes no sense.

I think I had it back in late January. Not been tested yet. You could have had it ages ago dude, without even realising. Long before we even knew it existed.

We were test subjects, then they realised it would not work.

Its no surprise given how badly UK have handled the virus. The only ones worse right now as far as western world goes is Sweden.

There should have been 1000euro fines from the very start for anyone caught wandering outside during lockdown.

Issue with enforcement in UK was that we never actually went into lockdown. If your job couldn't be done from home, it was business as usual for most. Construction workers, cleaners, carers, teachers, ect all continued working throughout, some for good reason and others just because the govt were letting companies do as they like. Bus and underground drivers were hit hard early on and the sick rates meant services were cut, so public transport was overcrowded every day during the peak of the pandemic. So the police couldn't actually stop anyone, because most of the people going out had no choice in the matter, only time they ever really used the new laws was stopping the odd party.

Essentially it was lockdown for the middle classes only, which isn't a very easy thing to police. In my area (Salford) and many other working class areas more or less every family seemed to have been affected before lockdown began anyway, super late call.

(I had it and was symptomless too though as expected given my age, guess you're a healthy guy too)

The big problem is that there are a plethora of idiots in the UK that continue having huge street parties, Brixton comes to mind, And then wonder why their family members are dropping like flies.

Police have been to these places, Brixton most recently, But they get violently assaulted and as they have their hands politically tied by the idiot PC crowd they cannot do anything to stop this as they aren't allowed to fight back or even properly arrest anyone otherwise they get labelled as Nazis, If they do they themselves get investigated by some kangaroo court made up of intellectuals that don't live in the real world, Fired and then their pensions get cancelled.

Yep, I eat extremely clean, Do 1 hour of cardio per day and also lift 2-3 hours per day, Everyday, It's my zen thing ^_^

The recent raves that police have had to deal with have been stupid, but only really started happening in June, several months after the peak of the crisis, so not really relevant to most deaths(Particularly given over half of deaths occured within care homes), especially given the long time between infection and fatality, the UK's "Peak infection rate" probably occurred in late March (Since peak hospitalisation was mid April).

Keep getting very odd sign in attempts from China on my Outlook account which is where all my Steam and general shopping stuff is saved to, The 2 same places in China twice per month, This month and last month, Chengdu and Hulzhou, My password is 20+ characters so they're not getting it anytime soon but still annoying.

Should change your password or email anyway. Character length is a good but if it's predictable it's still easy enough to crack.

Should also look into using 2FA. MS has their own app for that. When you do it just be sure to write down all your recovery codes in case you lose your phone or something. Only way to disable it if you lose access to the app.

My new password is 35 characters/letters long, Odd that it's from the same 2 locations each time though.

Quite annoyed to see pubs packed, we're almost certainly getting a second wave in Finland. Was tempted to have a pint after work on Friday but decided against it after seeing the crowds.
I suppose restaurant owners are between rock and a hard place with looming threat of bankruptcy an on the other hand, spreading covid on the other. So understandable they they chose the latter, but still.

The human race worships money, Heck just look at certain religions, Money is basically their god, Humans will do anything for money, Even endanger other peoples lives and in many cases end them, Money is their god.

Also you can't eat, drink or breathe money yet humans insist on destroying their life support system for it

Indeed, My grandmother had a great saying -

"In the last shroud there are no pockets"

Meaning you cannot take anything with you when you die, Yet we have people in this world doing anything they can to get money, Lying, Cheating, Killing etc... The whole human species needs a reset IMHO.

Unfortunately with our current model people require money to eat/shelter/ect and a lot of nations still adopt an economic theory that implies that state expenditure should be rebalanced in state earnings(Predicated on economic theories that were quite useful bank when a moneys value was tied to commodities such as during the 1920's). I'm a big advocate for MMT (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Monetary_Theory), which is an economic model that seems to be more accurate than the current mainstream Keynesian models when you apply it to both history and present day, that I think has some really clear benefits in times like this. It relies heavily on the fact that since the 70's money has no longer be tied to the value of any commodities or resources(Gold) and is now predominantly created by crediting banks (IE "Created/printed out of thin air"), and that treating it as a finite resource from the perspective of a national government serves no functional purpose besides inflation control, with which there are more effective management policies.

(Quick comparison)

A government that modelled its economic approach on MMT would not be faced with this problem of having to put lives at risk in order to bring in cash flow to both people who need work/money to eat/shelter/ect and to the government who wants to "Balance the books" by recuperating taxes to "repay" its expenditure on welfare during the pandemic (Of course, this money doesn't actually have to be repaid, it's just a deflationary measure really). There would be no pressure to rush into risking peoples lives, to cut off the necessary state aid too early, or to follow up with austerity, as it would accept that its expenditure on welfare was funded primarily by crediting new money to the states central bank(Which is primarily the case here in the UK, but the government is pretty hush hush about this because half their election campaigns relies on this "Magic money tree" fallacy; Since our currency is credited by the BoE as the govt requests, it is not really economically logical it imply it is in any way finite or limited), and that this money is primarily being given to people who have little choice but to spend it quickly, therefore the "printing" of this new money would not have an undesirably inflationary effect(So is not comparable to scenarios like the Weimar Republic), and in fact reduces the risk of potentially catastrophic(In this scenario) deflation. Industries that cannot safely be restarted yet would still rely on state aid, but that money would be immediately spent on the necessary industries still running, making it a more effective way to raise public spending and confidence than restarting unsafe industries. If we instead follow up with austerity, and states attempting to cut costs or raise taxes to recuperate savings, all we will end up doing is taking money out of the hands of the people most likely to spend it. This is hugely dangerous to the economy in times like this, and is likely the reason why it took the UK a decade to recover from the 2008 financial crisis, far beyond expected or necessary. The collapse of our state resources and investment was not caused by the 2008 economic crisis, but by the political response to it that implied that the deficit was some kind of Godly statistic and that running a high deficit was in some way bad and not infact completely healthy and desirable for any recovering nation to bring back consumer confidence.

(Edit: Of course also worth noting that the GDP of modern developed economies is so large that the inflationary effect of crediting even tens or hundreds of Billions of most fiat currencies is exceptionally small compared to some popularly cited but no longer relevant historical examples[Particularly the Weimar Republic])
