Small talk & Chit chat

One of my fan hubs is stuck to the inside of my case with Gasket sealant (it's the only thing I had at the time).

Can anyone recommend the best stuff to use to remove it? I don't want to use much force as do not want to damage the case of fan hub.

Always been tempted to get a Ducky, but the cost just holds me at bay. Still rocking a membrane keyboard here, haha :D

I have two of those. One with blues, one with browns. Kalih? something like that switches.

They are both ace. In three years all I have had to do is replace the spacebar switch on my older one (with blues). One has Miami key caps (pink and cyan) and the other has Mionix french fries caps.

So tempted to get this, but the cost is nuts..

$135? Seems quite cheap.

If you were going to DIY then yes, it would sound cheap. However, my Magicforce boards were £30 delivered fully built. The only issue I have had is that the space bar switch died in my blues version, but a Cherry blue cost me £2 delivered and worked a treat. There's no switch twist either unlike some of the nasty mech boards out there, the deck flex is minimal and they are awesome for gaming (so you can get your hands closer together for better reactions so you are not moving your arms around like a flounder.

I've no doubt that the Duckys are much higher quality, but I could have bought 4 of these boards I have.

I wouldn't say Ducky are amazing, Varmillo or Leopold are probably the best boards you can get prebuilt and they are in another league compared to any other non-custom.

Are there any boards that are prelubed and prebuilt? Just curious. I just wish I could find something that I could choose everything I wanted then have someone build it up then ship it out. I don't have time like I used to and especially in the coming months I won't.

No. You can only get ones that have prelubed stabs. You can get people to do this stuff for you but it's not cheap.

except in norway its 2500kr so that is $247
Can't you buy it from an EU seller or will you get hit with import tax? Such as CandyKeys ?

I pay 30% or so import tax so sometimes its not worth it, plus delivery to Norway is outside of EU so often I pay "rest of world" delivery fees.

Throw back to 2003 when I had my first watercooling build. Back when Asetek were first starting to blossom with their new lineup

And the GPU waterblock in 2005 for my 7800GTX that cost me £100 back then too!

That is awesome :D

The first loop I did was in around 2004. It was for a friend of mine who always builds big. Some Kingmax? thing? god knows. He wanted the Lian Li fishtank side panel, but the case was around $400. So we bought a $60 case (silver) and the fish tank side panel and I modded it for him. It looked so amazing. Wish I had one of those panels now.

On the subject of water cooling. Apparently Corsair are now the world leading experts in BS, I mean water cooling.

They can't even make a GPU block that doesn't leak, and now all of a sudden they are saying that less radiators will help performance because of airflow. I would imagine the same guy who made their latest air cooler came up with that data.

Corsair are clueless. They contacted Linus stating he was doing things wrong with his rads, and while their theory had merit. He proved them wrong completely on both counts.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this. So a guy on a BMX forum posts a pic of a BMX from a game. Looked really good. He said it was "Everybody's Gone To The Rapture" so I grabbed it.

Sake, what a time to be playing it lol. It's about some mystery virus (well, that's transmitted through phone wires so far) and it's really freaky. Good though, and the graphics are pretty lovely.

They are using one piece of science to defy another, though. Science - more air flow with the correct pressure = cooler. However, science also - the more surface area in a water cooling rig the cooler the temps, until you reach saturation.

It's that part they did not put into their research.

Water cool have made mistakes. Their HTFS were pretty terrible. Looked incredible, mind.
