Small talk & Chit chat

I do have faith in Xiaomi though. Much more than I had in Oppo.

I bought a Oppo Find 7A back when it was all the rage. I waited patiently for 3 years for them to come out with a direct successor to it but one never came. I ended up getting a huawei Mate 9 instead which im still rocking.

I want to get a new phone for the wow factor, but its such a waste of money when my current handset does everything i need and is still snappy thanks to its 4gb of ram and Kirin 960

I had mine flashed to something else right away. I cant even remember what it was but it was one of the top 3 most popular custom roms on XDA and oppos own forums when the find 7 was first released.

That does look really really good!!

Sadly - No MicroSD card slot. No buy - Same reason why ive stayed away from new Huawei phones as of late - Not because they dont have a memory card slot - but its the WRONG type of memory card slot.

Well it's not released yet, and I don't even know the official storage myself. Could easily change. But why do people need so much space on their phones? surely 256gb is enough no?

Some phones are more than just phones for some people. Especially if you travel around a lot and need to travel light. music, videos, storage for cat gifs.

and i got the specs from GSM arena

Those may not be official. I can hand on heart say that our spec release on its way claims a 5640mAh battery and 512gb storage. It needs a chunky battery to keep that screen powered for long play. Pretty sure the Bluetooth should support LDAC too.

We will see when we get it in the next week or so.

But yeah mine is my music library. It holds 50gb music, lets say 50gb photos too. People who dont back up photos are either insane or asking for trouble.

On a new topic...

Anyone watching Japan Vs Ireland in Rugby WC? outstanding match to watch. :)

Well, if you also count the fact that mi mix handsets of the past have never had memory card slots either so I'm not that formula will change any time soon

Yeah I get that, but if this is coming with 512gb i honestly don't see what the purpose of having a memory card slot is about.

I have yet to experience a single person in our company who complains about storage when using flagship phones. And we test and use them hard!

I could understand if the phone had 64gb and you bought another 64gb card or 128gb, but all that is moot, when this comes with 512gb.

Also word on the street seems to be that it will cost about $2,800(USD) though im not sure about what version that price relates to and it will only be released in china.

Which again from my research is another formula that hasnt really changed with the mi mix line of phones. Though when i was researching on a replacement for my Mate 9, The mi mix series was high up on my list till i found out it had no card slot and the only way to get a handset was from ebay sellers in China. I cant remember if i saw anything relating to a 'global' or 'international' versions of the handset.

It will be international for sure. But as you say, availability could be extremely low. I can't really say much more because of NDA, so we just have to wait and see.

I was really impressed with Forza Horizon 3. Even more so by the almost RT quality reflection in the bonnet.

Then it sent me to a part of the map, and tried to charge me £16 for it.

Oh how I laughed.

Ah yes, good ol storm island. The one place I would be bored of after 5min.

Might have been the Hot Wheels DLC too which I quite liked, FH2 is great too feels exactly like FH3 but with (imo) a superior world.

Edit: Oh the snowy one for fh3 is Blizzard Mountain yeah.

The dlc and expansions aren't worth it?

Alien was right. It was Blizzard mountain. I got my Horizon Mixed up. For me it was a huge disappointment. I bought Storm Island on Horizon 2. And given the cost was steep to me for what I experience, I was disappointed.

It put me off Horizon 4 expansion for sure.

Fortune island? ok, looks decent.
Lego speed champions? cmon... I want realism to be maintain in something that looks as good as Forza.

But out of them all so far. Horizon 2 had the best music. Tearing A** down the highway at XXX mph with some classical music pumping in a dolby surround setup. :D

I got the Lego Champions DLC free from them posting key codes in the anniversary livestream last Monday and actually quite enjoying it, it weirdly does kinda maintain the realism in a way it feels like you're in a Lego theme park rather than a fake Lego world, and they sorta do full sized cars nowadays lol

Same with the Hot Wheels DLC for fh3, felt like a big theme park on a real island and a nice refresher from the main game, Blizzard Mountain was good too but yeah fh2's Storm Island was abit dark and glum(You can't buy it anymore though). And yeah Timeless FM is the best radio station in any of the Horizon games but FH3's selection was best overall I think because Block Party was half decent.
