Weird day.
So I get a taxi to my mother's this morning. Get over, mention that I need to somehow collect my Vega rig to bring over. Mum's friend says she will take me right there and then.
Get back just about to eat dinner and the monitor arrives.
Play time tomorrow

My first thought was "EWWWWWWW TN". I forgot how much I hated my Acer 4k TN panel.
However, all was forgiven once I started playing Doom. It looks superb, and dear god it's sooo smooth. Like buttery smooth.
I can't say I am a big fan of washed out TN panels, especially after coming from a higher res IPS panel, but it's absolutely mental for gaming. I don't think I could live with this as my 24/7 monitor, but none of that matters because of its gaming prowess.
I even managed to sell the game code that came with it, and clawed back a little cash, making it an even more amazing deal. It's also nice to have some proper horsepower on tap here at my mother's too. The Fury X was really starting to struggle.
I am going to be doing *a lot* of gaming over the next two weeks. My buddy in the USA is having his first proper 8 days off at Xmas for the first time ever, so yeah lots of gaming.
He finally has a job away from retail.

Battlefront 2 is currently £8 on Origin, Is the 5-6 hour single player campaign worth £8 ?

Played around 30 minutes of the single player campaign, It's one of the laziest put together single player portions of any game I have ever played.

Annoyed though, because I paid £25 for the first one and never bloody played that either.
Still, at least BFV is very good indeed, and performs beautifully on my Vega (apart from the cut scenes, they're really screwed but I have a couple of leads on how to fix that!).
I love Craig Fairbrass. I forgot he was in it, it's actually very funny at times

Had a bit of a clean up, Did some desk cable management, Put an LED strip on the back of the desk, Cleaned up pretty well me thinks ^_^
Thought you said you were gonna VESA mount that monitor, since mentioning not being a huge fan of the base?...

Bum borrox. Made the gut wrenching decision to strip down my green and silver rig and put the Alienware X99 board back where it belongs (so all the lights work and so on). Got the board out earlier, realised I need a sodding cable before I can connect it up. Where is it? at home, where else ffs.

Well on the 24th I asked the one person I want to spend the rest of my life with to marry me, she said yes! So I am now engaged. Been a crazy past few days that's for sure. Already been together for nearly 6 years, her father said it was about time I asked her lol
