Small problem looking much input

Well guys I am building a dedicated gaming rig since my last one had memory issues and its now a AMD hexcore server (fast and kicks major ass when i comes to computing). So now i want a dedicated gaming rig that i can play and record on and do a tad amount of editing.

Should i get the 2500K or 2600K to do the job? Now editing the video after is vital because i dont want to port the vid over the network to my 3930K rig to bog it down whilst i got my important work on it in use (also it lacks the space for fraps vids) and it will be overclock to near 5ghz regardless which cpu to recommend.

So just tell me what you think guys.

Why's your choice limited to 2500k and 2600k?

For a start you may as well get Ivybridge...

secondly, 2600ks are just binned 2700ks that couldnt cut the clocks, so dont get one of them

If you're only doing a little bit of editing, go with 3570k.
3570k
NH-D14
MSI Z77A G45/GD55
8GB 1600MHz RAM
Corsair AX650
7850/7870/7950/670

2 reasons.
1- i have both available at my store
2- my experience with a 3770K at 5.2ghz baked the living shit out of my water cooling loop (RASA RX360)

you may now be asking : this guy got a store but don't know the streghts of each processor?

well the answer is most my clients are AMD users or LGA 1366 users only basic users will get an i3 or so. but these 2 cpus have been on my shelf for 1 1/2 years! so i gonna give em use.

Were you trying to get a 5+ghz oc for 25/7 use?

not 24/7 usage my friend lol :hello:and no i aint from gallifrey. i was benching the cpu at the same frequency my gf got the 2600K she was benching too sadly it was 22'C hotter ( bad silicon lottery there). In most benchmarks i see only refer more to games and cinebench to rendering but occasionaly i see an i5 inch too close to an i7 at stock. i asked this question to mianly get feed back from people who actually run these cpus. but all input is making me see things a bit different. thanks peeps :)

From what I hear with Ivybridge once you go past around 4.5ghz the temps start to rocket up

Yeh, after 4.5ghz, you just need more and more volts to get it stable. I have to increase my 3770k 0.25v from 4.5ghz to 4.7/4.8ghz. This doesnt bother me, nor do I believe it should bother other users, as you're mad if you're running over 4.5ghz for 24/7 anyway.
