Thats right...

damm throttling the cards as water cooled temps are 34 (apparently under 35 it throttles)..

NEEEEED NEW BIOS !

Still not fixed the throttling? Mr Stocky was trying to get around that with 6800Ultras and apparently OPP at xtremesystems is working with NVidia to fix it? Theres also a thread at guru3d under the Rivatner forum about it, there might be some new info there. Sorry I cant help more specifically, thats what I`ve dug up from my scouting to find a fix.

Kenny :)

whats comical is I turned off the rads & it was ok..

tried a quick OC on the core to 530 (100 Mhz OC) & it ran !

but

& its big but

noticed i wasn't in SLI

enabled that & guess what...

you cant OC SLI with 77.22 drivers..

yet another bug

LMFAO

Nobady ever has a perfect release nowadays.

Games have done it for years, motherboards are out there too still with bugs in em, 6800's had a temp bug in them for ages where the temps were too high.

I am FUBAR to with this but go figure this one out:

One card's running 50degrees or so, the other 32 degrees - the cold bug hits me good an proper on one card and I get thermal issues on the other.

So a pair of the best cards out there - identical manufacture purchased at the exact same time - one throttles coz its too cold - the other is too bloody hot, but that could be driver related trying to fix the cold bug in the other one.

WE NEED NEW BIOS NOW GOD DAMMIT NOW!!!

(said like the Seargent R Powell in Die Hard for full effect!!!)

I would seriously try re-mounting or tighten the block on the card that is reporting high mate,

mine are within a degree of each other & these new cores from NV run very cool compared to 6800's.

Really looks like you are not getting good contact.

I already tried all that mate.

I am gonna back-up the BIOS which shows higher temps and then flash it onto the cool card - this will at least enable me to slap the biatch's and get some decent performance from them.

PM me if you would like a copy of this BIOS to enable youto do the same - only good if you have a water cooling set-up.

Its should be enough to keep us going until the powers that be get their thumbs out of a very dark place and do somehting themselves.

new none thermal temp bios

this bios stops thermal throttling but do it @ ur own risk.....

only try if u have water cooling.....

dont know how to post bios files so u will have to contact me on msn......

Dazboots,

Mate thanks for the informations my friend.

I did not get chance to use it though, what I did (before seeing this) was back-up my BIOS and using NiBITOR 2.2a I unchecked the box 6600GT temp trick - now it does not cold throttle at all and I am very happy.

Mind you I dont think the temp readings are that accurate either??

You can't have everything LOL.

Cheers
