SLI 590s with bad FPS in NFS shift 2?

I am just now getting around to it but with my setup i am getting very low fps where it even lags and is un playable. My settings are acceptable with no AA or AF with 5760x1080, i even tried 1920x1080 and again below 20fps... What is the problem?

One 590 on it's own should have no problems but as Tom said in the review for the 590 two 590s do worse in games than two 580s, games just aren't optimized for 2x dual cards/4 way SLI and performance drops rather than increases.

I think something is happening or im missing something. In Crysis 2 i am getting around 40fps tripple screen... BFBC 2 i am getting only 45-80fps tripple screen, all 5760x1080p.... When i check drivers for the 590's they are all up to date etc etc, Could my cards not really be fully enabled into SLI?

Custom PC magazine did a thing on dual/ triple card systems and a humble 6970 beat dual/ triple 570/80/90 and 6950/70/90's so I dont think its a problem with just your system, I dont think developers take into account people wanting to use dual high-end cards and multiple monitors. Oh and enjoy your micro stuttering! Try 1 card... I bet you get better performance.

I think you are miss informed, and problems have been resolved since your 6 month old issue of "Custom PC magazine" has been out. Drivers do help my friend, and there is a problem since TTL gets 40+ more FPS on the same exact setup as me, ONTOP of that im pretty sure i can not run 3 590's or 6990's. OH and enjoy my sarcasm<3

Perhaps you should have researched a bit more before buying 2x 590's then. Its common knowledge that more than 1 GPU causes pretty much unplayable frame rates and terrible stuttering when using more than one screen. A 570/ 6970 will yield better fps than multiple, multiple GPUs. I'm not the one who's dished out nearly £1200 on graphics and is being affected by frames rates that a single £200 card could do. No need for sarcastic, spiteful comments, people are just trying to help you out.

I still really think you have no clue what you are talking about... again with the bashing? I have money i dont need to worry about my pocket as i take care of myself pretty well. Also You really... really... need to do some research... maybe go look at the link that was posted up a couple replys above these to the review ttl did. Im sorry, but i do not see a single 6970 can get 80+fps tripple screen in crysis 2 when it cant do that single. Please stop replying as im trying to figure out the problem here

have you tried with only one card?

I tried one card and did not see a change in NFS shift, it seemed to be getting about the same fps in BFBC2 without the other, and same in crysis 2... Could it be the second card is dead? I am using a Asus ME IV z68 and have the first 590 in the first PCI-e slot and then am skipping the next and have the second in the 3rd slot to give the first some breathing room. Should i move it up?That honestly shouldnt matter either way one is running at x8 and the other the same...

It seems silly to suggest that crossfire and sli are worse performers than a single card. Ofcourse there will be exceptions but they would still be far from crap like chaney seems to be getting (crap in relation to those with simillar setups) and heres another example. Would ttl waste his time sli ing the mars just to see how crap it is. No. Cos it will surely be BONKERS

Chaney, try with one card in the first slot, then take it out and put the second card in and try it with that one, see if they are both working and giving the same fps.

if they are both fine, then its just the quad-sli's fault, other wise you'll see which is busted. (also try with 3screens and with 1 screen)

I tried with one card and will do it with the second as i was tired of taking in and out last night, when i get home i will get right on it. and report back,

Right calm down boys. Multiple cards is not the problem its the fact its two cards with dual GPU's.

TBH though Shift has always been a pita with ANY sli, this is one of the reasons Ive changed the Card in The Nurburgrig from a 590 to a 580.....

Anyways dude try with a single card and see how you get on.

No more rowing from either of you though, OC3D is about being chilled out and helping each other. I wont have ANYONE upsetting the ballence so get along like good children.
