Cryengine is unoptimized as heck, the API doesn't change anything about that. Input lag at anything lower than 100fps, that's just pathetic. The only things cryengine is good for are screenshots and cinematics.
There isn't even a single game using cryengine and mantle at the moment, where are you even getting this from.

Crytek adopted Mantle a while ago. It will be integrated into the engine. Cryengine is licensed out to 35 Devs with about 50 games in development. Its unoptimized because DX11 is inefficient and Mantle will help with that. So with its adoption it has a potential 50 games using mantle.

The input lag can be fixed, but it won't be. The engine has been around for a while and crytek never bothered to fix it. All mantle does is increase the performance, no engine should have input lag at 60fps.
The engine is an overrated steaming pile of crap, i have no idea how anyone could ever think it is acceptable in any way for fps gaming.
