Hi all.

First off I apologise for being a member for so long and contributing so little.

I have used the site a lot to get answers to problems and am very gratefull to all of you for your help :worship: :worship:

On with my puzzle.

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card ( 6600GT 128Mb ) and was considering an EVGA GeForce 7900GT 256Mb at £188.

Then I saw a recomendation on Toms hardware for the 7600GT 256MB which costs £88.

So, would I be better to run one 7900GT with 256Mb for £188, or, two 7600GT's in SLI with total 512Mb for £176 ?

It used to be so easy to just do a Google a few benchmark comparisons :(

My prices are from Overclockers.

Thanks in advance :wavey:

Argee with kemp on this one.

But if you cant spend the extra the single. SLI is sucktastic atm.

If you can afford a little extra get the 7950 series, alot cheaper than SLI.

You only really benefit from SLI if you use really high resolution.

Your quite right - the 7950GT is well worth waiting a week or two to save the extra few quid for, though to be honest I set out with a limit of £160.

I'm a salesmans dream me, I even talk myself into spending more :(

Thanks all - a single card it will be ..... when I get the dosh together ;)

If you want to save that little bit of cash, the 7900GT is going to outperform the 7600GT SLI in games even with the extra 256mb of memory. SLI is really only worthwhile for benchmarking, where that setup may score higher than a single 7900, but in game performance is what really matters and there's no better route than a single card and the 7900GT is a great choice.
