Silliest things when using/fixing/building PCs

I picked up a psu via it`s pcb and had the capacitors discharge thru me - weirdest feeling, like the ole put-the-battery-on-the-tonge trick only a whole body experience.

Stoopidest pc thing tho was down to not plugging power into a device, still can`t believe I wasted practically a whole weekend fault finding that.

Lol....glad your OK!

Sorry for bringing up a dead thread, but!

My stoopidest thing I have ever done with computers was: Okay, My friend wanted to see what a CPU looked like so I decided ill show him. (while the PC was on) Took off the Heatsink and windows blue screened and well I sort of laughed at myself! The poor CPU never recovered! :(

HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE!

LOL ^

I thought i'd see what the voltage switch did on the back of my psu about 4 years ago (when sam hardly knew anything:)) A big bang, a spark almost hit me in the face, smoke and a horrible smell...LOL scared the shoot outta me as i'd just got a 6600gt installed, luckily the cheapo psu sacrificed itself and saved everything else.

The scary thing was that the shop who repaired it presumed that i'd plugged a pci-e card into my AGP slot  then proceeded to test everything and i was too scared to tell them what i had actually done :p
