its loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage when exposed for long periods of time. theres no way you could use this as a 24/7 fan on a heatsink, it would drive u batty.

its the perfect fan for trying to take home some world records on aircooling though :)

lol 60db cant cause permenant hearing damage.

well my 86cfm panaflow is pretty noisy on full blast,i think its rated around 35db

/me luffs fan controllers:p

yay!,my fan has arrived....yes i ordered one of these beasts:p

i am just waiting for me new ram to come then i will install it and let you know how it goes:)

and reps for sidewinder, quick shipping and great packaging(the best i have seen yet)

sidewinder has got the thumbs up:D

well suprisingly my ram just came this minuite:D

i hooked it upto 12v on the mains and it is loud but it doesnt sound loud enough to make me go deaf:)

the main issue ime thinking is the weight,it weighs like 2-3 120mm fans

i am a bit unsure weather it would be safe to mount it on my xp-120 just strapped on?

i take back what i said about the sound,it is pretty loud

my room sounds like a factory:rollingla

temps are going down slowly...

ime going to see how far i can overclock with this new g.skill now :)

cheers.

Guess 1: U plugged the fan into a fan header and the current pulled by the fan fried your mobo.

Guess 2: You mounted it to your XP120, and the extra weight pulled it off your motherboard.

i edited the post to say again.

good guesses but i aint that stupid for the 1st one(its powered by molex anyway)

the 2nd could be correct slightly(the extra weight broke the mobo somehow possibly, but i had it powered and running fine first time round)

but yea the damn mobo has gone again i think:(

i get the orange and red l.e.d's tho.

ime just so ****ed off right now i feel like chuckin it out the window

Down in the very bottom left corner of the mobo, there should be a bank of 4 led's. Are any of them lit when you try to boot the pc?

yea a bright red led,i have seen it on b4 and not had any trouble..

then again i havent owned a dfi b4 and i have no manual(it was oem)

cheers.

If it's the LED on the far left of the bank then i believe that's part of the normal boot sequence.

What is actually happening when you try to power on?

i can see the light under my g5 and i get nothing from the kboard or monitor.

my fan controller and the fans come on fine, the orange led at the top and that red led on the mobos come on ok.

thats about it

cheers.

That's **** mate!!! Hope you get it working, and I hope nothing got fried :(

Glad you got one of those fans though, they're beastly!!! Not advisable to use as a 24/7 cpu fan though, just too darn loud. Even I wouldn't use one of those things 24/7 and I'm used to an uber loud computer.

Get that rig fixed.

anyone know what might be the problem?

or is it the mobo?

i have already tried 2 sets of ram so its not that.

cheers.

my first guess would have been the delta blew ur comp straight out the window and you never saw it again.

hmmm i wouldnt have thought so,i have a 580w psu

i think this comp doesnt like mobos or something, this is the 2nd to die on me:mad:

There should be 6 total LEDs on your mobo. One near the memory for vdimm(orange), one somewhere else also orange, and 4 near the bottom left that are all red. Those 4 are diagnostic LEDs, 4 showing is system start-up, 3 showing is CPU detected, 2 is DRAM detected, 1 showing is VGA detected, and none is system boot-up. There are also error codes that they show by flashing a certain combonation etc. If there is an error code post it up here and I will look it up for you.
