Should I wait?

I currently have an ATI HD 4850 512 MB (I use a 22" 1680x1050 monitor) and was looking to uprade my GPU to a 6870/GTX 560/GTX 560ti (somewhere in the about $175-210ish range). I hear the new AMD 22nm cards are coming out soon, but would it be worth to wait for them or just go ahead and buy now? Some sources say they're coming out relatively soon, other sources say it'll be Q1 until we see the new cards. I'm mainly upgrading my GPU for Battlefield 3, like many other people I'm worried my older card wont perform very well on it.

Your wasting your time waiting for AMDs new card, it's very doubtful the new AMD cards will come out Q1 2012, more like Q3. And even then the rumors are it's not going to be much faster than the 6xxx, in fact I have been seeing that it will be the same card with only a die shrink. But again it's just a rumor. I remember people talking about the 6xxx series when the 5xxx was released, and so on. A 6970 should be enough for BF3, if DICE knows how to do anything it's creating the most optimized engine, and on top of that DICE made BF3 an AMD based game.

Yeah 6970 is way out of my budget. As much as I'd love to pick up a 300+ card ( or even a 250+) I just can't afford it. There's specs on the 7xxx series showcasing more drastically reduced power consumption and gaining 3-400 cores across their 7850 and 7870 models from previous 6850 and 6870 models. So apparently their new mid range will perform on par with (or greater than) current 6950/70 cards and only pull 90-120 watts of power.
