Should I wait for Haswell

I don't have enough money saved up yet. But should I wait and save up for haswell or buy a cheap core 2 duo?

Between the 2, wait for Haswell. Core 2 duo is tad outdated by now. You could always go with an Ivy i3 like the 3220, or 3225 if you're not using a graphics card. They would handle most games just fine and work really well for everyday computer usage :)

Should you wait for it to snow...?
I mean, you can wait, but the snow will melt and go...

Bad analogy, but what I mean by that is why wait for Haswell when a new architecture is likely to be released the year after?
I always upgrade to whatever is best for NOW, not later - because as with all things computer land, it will be obsolete the next day anyway.

You could upgrade now and still be in for a ride for the next 2 years, I mean the prices are only likely to get better, right?

Depends on what you're running now. If you're on a Core 2 Quad with an overclock you might as well wait til April for Haswell. But if you're on s slow dual core or worse and your computer is dragging then grab you a fresh new Ivy Bridge chip.

So basically if you need a new CPU then get one. If your current CPU is getting the job done then wait cause Haswell wont likely be a huge jump in performance over Ivy Bridge.

Well my computer is doing fine but it is near its last breath. I can wait for Haswell and hopefully save enough for something else also. Thanks for the help guys.
