Should I Buy A New Motherboard

Buying X99 now seems a bit daft unless you can get a cracking used board cheap and overclock the nuts off of what you have already.

For me buying used i'm not sure if it's such a good idea cause i wouldn't know if the person would i bought it from hasn't OC in the first place.

Back in the day i bought a used motherboard from ebay and only got just under 12 months from it, But that's the risk you play when you buy from the second hand market.

Yeah i do agree it's a bit daft, But i'm not sure what else to do atm, I was looking on Newegg and they seem to have some good deals atm for X299 motherboards.

Hes from Aussie land, I new board probably costs $1200 :D

Nah, It's not that bad when it comes to motherboard pricing range is $265-$999.

GPU pricing is bad here just like everywhere else in the world.

Buying a board thats been overclocked shouldnt be an issue.

I ran Orca within an inch of her life on max overclock for over 4 years with no issues

You can still grab mine its done no overclocking and had very little usage due to a faulty cpu and Ive since swapped to Ryzen and JayzTwoCents used to use this same board type in skunkworks before he drilled a hole through it in a video and wrecked it LOL or maybe it wasn't skunkwork it could have been his test bench either way he loved it

I remember what killed that motherboard now, Yeah it wasn't from overclocking it was a damn power surge that kill it. Back when the motherboards weren't as good as they are now.

Well maybe i should look at the second hand market then which motherboard would you say are worth looking at or should i just go back and watch all of you X99 refresh videos and go from there.

I seen your listing before when i was searching on ebay, I know the video your talking about from Jayz it was when he was reviewing the EK AIO.

In my ebay searches i did happen to find two MSI motherboards, I have sent one of the sellers a message about it i just have to wait until he reply back to me.

Even tho i don't like the name "Godlike" for a motherboard but if i can get it for a good price i will get use to the name.

Fingers crossed on the Godlike.

No one on ebay here has them listed every carbon motherboard is listed is from overseas and there's nothing i can really do about it.

I said earlier in the thread i did find two places that had them listed on there websites but doesn't mean they have them in stock and the price range was $470-500.

Why don't you sell your cpu and get the new Ryzen 2700x and an msi x470 board when they arrive here about the 20th of April
