Running @ 3.8 q6600 4gb ram 4870 I got around 30-40FPS on 1280x1024

That kinda seals it. If he's getting 35fps with his rig currently, without a complete expensive overhaul, I can't see the rig being immensely bettered.

or, instead of buying a £200 CPU *shudders* ...get a 360 I kid, consoles are for the WEAK
