Should I be worried?

So after having a few stability issues (and a few really weird results in OCCT) with a recent overclock I decided to go back to the beginning and start again. Having re-read the OC3D overclocking guide again, I decided to reset my bios settings to optimized defaults and run OCCT to see what results I was getting at complete default.

After 5ish minutes it crashed. :o

Surely I should be able to run the test with completely default settings? I ran the CPU:Linpack, mem at 90% with AVX enabled. I know this is a pretty stressful test but surely my PC at default should be able to handle it?

Some help would be greatly appreciated...

Sometimes the bios might not clear it properly dude so just go and make 100% sure

Thanks dude, reply much appropriated. I checked the settings and they were at defualt. I reset the CMOS (with the switch at the back) and re-applied the default setting. I reran the same test in OCCT and it seemed more stable this time but the CPU activity keeps dropping about every 3 minutes. It was doing this when I had it overclocked and I thought it may be a setting that I had changed. Also, the CPU temps seem really high for stock settings.

Ive uploaded a pic so you can see what I'm talking about..

oh, haha! that has been confusing me for a while :(

Thanks for your help dude. Better get back to the bios and start testing!

Nice, Managed to get a 4.4ghz overclock at 1.3v and stable for 7 hours on OCCT with memory at 90%. Average CPU temps are at 70c on a H100i.

I'm planning on doing my first custom water loop. I'm just waiting for all the parts to arrive. Hopefully this will bring the CPU temps down a bit but I'm happy with how it is at the mo. I may even try and do a small build log if I remember...
