So all of my parts came for my new PC build, I set it up like usual, booted it up and installed windows 7 home premium 64bit. I installed all of my latest drivers and software.

My problem is this:

When I first had my computer on, everything works and runs just fine. I can play games and other programs without a hitch. When I turn my PC off for the night the next time I turn it on Windows will give me a message that says Windows failed to start, a recent hardware change may have caused it. It then gives me two options:

- Startup repair

- start windows normally

If I were to choose start windows normally, it would not boot, i need to run startup repair first. Once this is done it will boot into windows. I would have to put my windows install disk in and run the repair option because I would get a memory_management BSOD.

I have no idea why I have no problems unless I have my computer off for an extended period of time (like 4 hours). I have tried memtest on each stick of RAM and there were no errors. Right now I took 1 stick of RAM out and i'm leaving my pc off for 4 hours and then starting it up, if it doesn't replicate the problem then I will do the same thing with the other stick of ram. If it boots up no problem then I'm guessing the problem isn't my RAM, it has something to do with using 4gb at once. I had been using XMP to run my ram at the factory settings but then I turned it off to see if that was the problem and no luck. I also flashed my bios to the latest to no avail.

Do you guys have any idea wtf is going on or what I should try?

They are supposed to run at 1.6v i've tried this setting and the same result occurs. I took one stick out...left for 4 hours, turned it on and there was no problem. I did the same with the other stick and it caused the problem so I'm assuming the one stick is screwed. I'll leave the good stick in overnight just to be sure that it's ok and then i'll get in touch with the rma people and see if I can just send the one stick in and keep the other so I can still use my pc

Mine does this sometimes as well. I close all programs, shut down as normal. I wait for it to shut down by it self, I don't do anything after pressing shut down.

It's quite strange, but it has only really happened since I changed my CPU voltage a bit...
