Shelfuter - Computer in a Shelf

mate could you please re-size the pictures? it literally took me 3 minutes until i could check the post.
other than that, keep going. looks nice already.

Man that would SUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKK if you would up moving... all dat work. It's not something that could be transferred easily I imagine :-(. Either way tho it looks pretty damn good! You wanted to get an 8350 anyway ;-)

Sadly it probably will happen probably in May or June. It's not that hard to transfer it around really, there are just a fair few bits and pieces. As long as the gap is under precisely 148cm it'll work, sadly there aren't any walls around that size where it'll fit in the new house, according to the floor plan anyway. I personally haven't actually seen the house itself.

The FX-6200 I have is still under warranty, I do have an Athlon II 250 to hand and I may put that in temporarily. Although, what worries me about my FX-6200 is that I've overclocked it overtime like mad, I know as long as there are no burn marks (evidence of overclocking) then my warranty is intact. but yes, I would probably get the 8350. Also, I got the 6200 2 days after it was released and back then it was £130, which is the price of the 8320 more or less these days, so I ought to just get the 8350 in the end.

I will without a doubt make something similar again, but bigger and better. Sorry for the essay :P

Hi Guys, firstly, I'd like to apologise for the lack of updates, this was a promising project until I almost moved house.

My CPU hasn't died yet, but it's not far off I will hopefully run into some spare money soon and get one, as well as a GPU (probably the 280x or 290x when I see the benchmarks). because my CPU is damaged, I can't see the individual core temps and I have no idea really if my temps are safe or even what the temps actually are, although it feels a tad bit warm just idling.

Meanwhile I have made two extra holes. One under the PSU to get it some air and one for a rear 80mm fan, which I may not even use. (picces up soon)

If I do end up running into the money I intend to, then this'll be a breeze, meaning the new CPU, GPU (maybe a new PSU) and a full WC setup

You can actually see it dipping in the middle. I'd be more than a little worried about the effect of additional weight.

Maybe you could add a baton across the middle and one at the front to give additional strength. It would also give the appearance of the wood being thicker.

Just a thought, you'd hate to be woken by the sound of wood cracking and splitting followed by your PC and monitor crashing to the floor.

I do have something I put to support it, It got worse a month or so ago so I made something ergently to support it from the ground.
