Seven minutes of 60 FPS Assassin's Creed: Valhalla gameplay leaks onto the web

For a modern, not yet released title, the graphics are very underwhelming. You'd expect Ubisoft to sugarcoat gameplay vids, but it looks like they failed at that too

Hopefully the last AC game?

I really hope this is the last AC game for a long time. The graphics looks very mediocre and the mechanics are all the same. They are milking the AC brand too hard.

Now we know why MS decided to only show CGI at the Xbox event. Very much developed for current gen platforms. Hardly the future leap I was hoping for.

To be honest it looks like garbage, and not what you would expect a "Next Gen" game to look like.

The thing is until it's a actual video released by someone who seems to know how to record, and upload at a decent quality it will look garbage because that currently is a blurry mess probably recorded at bit-rate of around 5000 and converted and uploaded at around that as well.

To be fair folks, this is a cross-generation title. That limits what Ubisoft can do. We also need to see what Ubisoft has planned for the game. If it can run at 60 FPS on the next gen systems, that's where the extra performance went. Higher resolutions and framerates.

It takes time for games to be made, and it is very possible that next-gen considerations only became a part of the game late in the title's development. Ubisoft aren't exactly a first-party developer for Sony and MS. They also haven't adopted ray tracing in any of their PC games IIRC.

I expect a lot of games to be getting minimal next-generation upgrades. That's what happens during a cross-generation period. The problem this time is that we have already seen that kind of leap with Xbox Series X and PS4 Pro, making the usual resolution and/or framerate upgrades appear underwhelming.

I just hope 60fps is the norm at 4k for next gen. Could care less about RT features. If I wanted the best graphics I'd just buy the best PC tbh. Just how I see it

TBH, I think a lot of developers will continue to focus on graphics. As much as I would love 60FPS to be the new normal, great graphics will always help to sell games.

The good thing about the new systems is that they have the CPU power that's needed for higher framerates. The current set of consoles were held back by AMD's Jaguar cores, but with Zen 2 at high clock speeds, CPU-based limits like that aren't a thing anymore.

It would be nice to see developers focus more on temporal resolution, as high refresh rate 1440p does look sharper/smoother than 4K30 in a lot of cases.

These new consoles won't put an end to 30 FPS console games, but during this cross-gen period I can see a lot of devs targetting higher framerates for the next-gen versions of games.

I don't think there should be any excuses(not accusing you of anything to be clear). Let console players choose themselves. Like PC players choose their settings.

Give us a higher framerate option or a graphic option. We already get semi similar things for the OneX and Pro.

I'd think they'd find a lot of people switch to the performance version.
At 1440p we could get great visuals and easy 60fps. These cards off the shelf can easily do that and that's before the intense optimization they get under consoles. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Issue though is stupid Sony still doesn't support 1440p. Only 1080/4k. They need to address this. MS supports it afaik.
