Hi all...Ayd here.

XMS and myself are arguing with each other via MSN on probably one of the greatest questions to ever plauge man (or woman).

Coca Cola or Pepsi

Please help settle this and tell him that Pepsi is best :D

Coke!

Pepsi is a cr@ppy imitation of the real king of drinks Coca Cola (that up until the 1920's actually contained cocaine).

Really?

WOW, sounds like there where alot of HYPER peeps around in 1920! :p

And Coca Cola is in a large part responsible for the red & white Santa Clause, as up until they decided to use him as part of their advertising campaign Santa had no definate outfit colours or memorable look.

EDIT:

Now i'm really selling this:

Coca Cola loosely translated into Chinese means:

"bite the wax tadpole"

or

"female horse fastened with wax"!!

he was St Nicholas and was green wasnt he? anyway coke ftw

coca cola definetly. Pepsi is too sugary and pepsi max is terrible. Coca cola rules. and thank you coca cola for the red and white santa so much better than the green

I vote pepsi as coke has too much sugar and is really sickly :(

I also don't like the way they advertised "coke zero" as if it was something new :( haven't pepsi had pepsi max (no added sugar) for ages?

I have noticed most bars etc seem to sell coke more than pepsi tho, I even ended up having to drink diet stuff that leaves a horrid taste in your mouth.

JD+Pepsi is a lot better than JD+Coke ;)

I just had a look at suger content tho and they are much the same:

Coca-Cola Classic = 40 grams

Pepsi = 39 grams

xxxxxxx zero is awful.

Pepsi isn`t awful, but it`s not as nice.

Have to drink diet & cafene free coke, otherwize it angers-up the blood >.<

Yeah he was apparently a combination of St Nicholas and someone else. He used to be dressed primarily in green but had no real set colours, so people changed his colour to whatever suited.

santa is a mutant? ive got an empty 2L coke bottle infront of me and santa looks like such a kiddy fiddler

What do you expect for a guy that comes down your chimney at night to empty his sack at the end of your bed!

He was originally green, as said, and Santa Claus comes from German for St Nicklaus (or something like that ;)).

Coca Cola was originally made with coca leaves (containing cocaine), and kola beans, hence the name.

XMS said above that Coke contained cocaine up until the 1920s. That's not quite right, it still contains trace amounts of cocaine today, as it's still made with coca leaves (but they have *most* of the cocaine removed).

But before you're tempted to run off claiming Coca-Cola turned generations of drinkers into dope addicts, consider the following: back in 1885 it was far from uncommon to use cocaine in patent medicines (which is what Coca-Cola was originally marketed as) and other medical potions. When it first became general knowledge that cocaine could be harmful, the backroom chemists who comprised Coca-Cola at the time (long before it became the huge company we now know) did everything they could with the technology they had available at the time to remove every trace of cocaine from the beverage. What was left behind (until the technology improved enough for it all to be removed) wasn't enough to give a fly a buzz.

come on Pepsi heads we can't lose this

errr...

OK so Coke used to contane small amounts of a class A drug, that's their marketing ploy to get you addicted, plus the changing of St Nik to Red and White instead of his natural Green and Brown is a show of what a corporate bully they are and we all don't like big organisations telling 'us' what to do!!!

Plus Pepsi was advertised by Michael Jackson ... oh damn I'm supposed to be promoting Pepsi.... err

I don't know tbh, wikipedia says this

But Wikipedia is not the be all and end all of the universe ;) (i.e. it may be wrong).

At the end of the day - who cares. We'll just happily get high on the caffine instead :D
