Setting Affinity

Is there a way to execute a program whilst assign a core to it automagically ?

Like "Run SomeProgram.exe /aff 3" for core_3 ?

(or is there a sneaky piece of 3rd party code that will do it?)

XP/Vista OS.

So is it looking like if I want to have 1 pc do the work of 3 or 4 (with obviously a much quicker quad to boot) I`m going to have to run the programs each of the others had and right-click in the taskmanager to set affinity myself each time ?

there are a couple of apps that can set the affinity.

imagecfg will write the affinity mask to the apps header so it always runs on the same core and does not require imagecfg to be running anymore

download and simple instructions here:

EDIT: imagecfg can also be used to write the /largeaddressaware header to allow apps to use more than 2gb of mem and provide them with a 3gb address space

GnS Affinity has a user friendly interface and version 2.36.4 is available here:
