I have my windows 7 system and fold on it (not so much lately)
And i use to run 5 to 8 instances of CPU folding to get it to use most of all my cores on my i7 870 HT on
I also have a server 2003 with a i7 860 with HT turned off in it and I was setting up CPU folding on it today and I started 4 instances of CPU folding on it and BAM straight up to 100% load. So I closed 2 and only had 2 running, still at 100% load across all cores so I left one instance running and it was at 60% to 80% and on both systems in the folding config it was set to 100% CPU load.
So my question is, is windows server 2003 better for folding?
I didn't think it would make much difference but it seems to, I yet to measure the daily results tho
