Sennheiser Game Zero w/ SupremeFX

Hi guys,

My Sennheiser Game Zeros just arrived this morning. The motherboard I'm using is the ASUS Gene VII which comes with the SupremeFX sound card. For some reason, these headphones sound really tinny, and there is no bass. From all the reviews I've seen and read though, they're meant to be spot on. They are being read by the RealTek audio manager as 150ohm as well. Any ideas?

Thanks

How are you plugging them in, don't plug them into the front panel try the rear, IMO on board sound is not really that good

I had the Sennheiser G4ME Zero's and they NEED to be powered with no less than 150 Ohm straight from the soundcard or Amp/DAC *Which ever you have basically*.

Do not plug them into the front audio ports of your case as it will simply not get enough power even if you have the soundcard hooked up to the fron I/O, Plug them directly into the rear green port of the soundcard to be on the safe side.

Any less than 150 Ohm and they will sound tinny as they are power hungry cans.

There should be a power setting in the SFX control panel, Set it to extreme so they get all the power they need, Should look like this -

Next time you buy £199.99 / A$279.95 headphones maybe a little research beforehand would be wise ;)

I did do the research, hence me purchasing them and stating the soundcard I have, as well as the headset. The SupremeFX supports 150 ohm. I haven't had the problem all week, but now all of a sudden it's back to sounding tinny again.

Also, can't change the amplification level on the rear I/O port for some reason

Yep... the problems keeps popping up, had the same issue. Fine at first, but as time went on, more and more problems showed up. So I ended up returning them and went back to my original Logitech G35's which I've used for years and got a new one, whenever the last one broke :)

The most expensive things aren't always the best ones ;)
