I'am also thinking about getting a Samson Meteor and I was wondering how you placed yours on your desk in a way that it doesn't pick up too much noise from the keyboard while being close enough to still pick up your voice clearly.

Its trail and error, my desk is only 600mm deep so its quite small, so i place it in the corner, and it picks up my voice fine, and my keyboard i can speak from the other side of the room and the guys can hear me fine, which is what i kinda wanted.
If thats not what you want might be better getting a headset

Ok, thanks it should be ok then when it's able to pick up your voice from quite far away, I just don't want to spend about 50£ just to have my mates complaining about the noise my keyboard makes.
I currently use a Sennheiser headset for gaming thats falling appart, so I'd really like to have a seperate mic so that I can get rid of it and use me AKG Q701 when gaming with friends.
I was also thinking about getting a cable with an inline mic off ebay but the quality probably wont be too impressive.
