Don't know if anybody noticed but Seiki a Chinese company have unleashed a 4K television upon us for......

1,499 US Dollars

1,499 US Dollars

1,499 US Dollars

1,499 US Dollars...

Question is.. Who's taking the gamble first
woohoo the Chinese have ruined the script! Time for some 16 core AMD CPU's and 8 core Intel CPU's

doesn't that thing cost $1.3k?
think i've seen some site saying 1299

still, that changes things up a lot, like to see that

Yeah the point was it's dirt cheap ;) (in comparison to the controlled market...)

Who's buying first?

4k benchmarks please ;)

hint. Sell a couple of those Asus 1400p monitors and get 4k naow!!

no point in that since no benchmarks/games are optimized for 4k. would be just upscaled shit.
Not sure if i am a fan of 4K yet, i like a high resolution but the performance drop will be heavy. but i guess you could say the same about going from 720p to 1080p.

I'd like a 4K TV but at the same time... what on earth would I play on it? I can't get any Movies or TV Shows in 4K yet and my computers cannot output a 4K image as I only have Dual-Link DVI connectors which can't do it.

It'd be like buying a cart without the horse to pull it at this point.

Yeah the Chinese have royally effed up the script,

On the other hand someone buy it for the lulz.

Watch everyone loath over it then become jelly.

I don't think it is a good idea buy a $20,000+ TV for $1,300. Something tells me this company is either selling stolen televisions or broken ones. This is one of those cases where it is to good to be true.

4k tvs aren't 20,000 anymore about 7,000 but tbh seiki are still probs making a butt ton of money becausse if samsung can produce a 10 inch 2560x1600 tablet for £319 then why can't they make 27 or 30 inch monitors for that. Ridiculous that 4k panels are so expensive and 2560x1600 one as well and I know that there a failures in the procedure but seriously companies that are trying to sell 2560x1600 monitor for 1000 plus are just ridiculous and I blame apple with there stupid cinema displays

Technology is being held back, The Chinese are taking advantage of that fact and the fact they own 2 billion slaves. If anything the Chinese are rewriting the script, The articles I've read have all looked positive.
