Seeking some advice regarding Universities...

Hello, so lets get straight to the point. I am studying last year of A levels at 6th form college. basically this is the year when everyone either choose go to uni or work. well, to me the choice is uni, i have decided to do the software engineering course. but, which uni? i have applied for some through ucas, and got some offers already. i have chosen five, in non particular order:

Brunel - conditional offer - 260 ucas points - Mobile Computing

Oxford Brookes - conditional offer - 240 ucas points - Software Engineering

Kingston - conditional offer - 260 ucas points - Software Engineering

Bournemouth - got an interview, but no decision yet - Software Engineering

Portsmouth - no decision yet - Software Engineering

Basically im asking u guys what u think would be the best uni out of those 5 for programing course, i dont really mind how much the studies cost and location, as long as its reputable, well known so i could get best education i can and right after of course a job, how easy would it be to find a job with certain universities degrees.

PS. im doing sandwich course, basically with a year out to get some experience.

PSS. any more info u need to help me here, just askkkk.....

PSSS. Bournemouth and Portsmouth were really my backup choices, but seeing that Bournemouth have arranged an interview i m impressed and think its a lot more professional than other unis.

To be honest mate, given that we are not 100% sure what each course involves in terms of curriculum it would be very hard for us to recommend any of the above unless one of us has actually attended one of the colleges listed. You really need to try and decide what career path you're likely to pursue and then try and base you decision on the course which has the most relevant content.

Sorry if that aint as cut and dry as you might have expected bud...but you hold the cards here...:wavey:

I go to portsmouth uni. Its pretty good for most things, as far as i know.

This is the link to the taught unit database - www.tech.port.ac.uk/tud

Search for your course on there and you will get a list of all the units that course teaches (it might change by next year). See if you like the sound of most of the units. If so, then it might be the course for you.

Also, check the uni stats/ratings for your course - cant remember the link. probably the times.

Thats the same with most Uni towns.

Go out Sunday - Thursday and it will be great but then go out Friday / Saturday and you'll find yourself surrounded my muppets wearing stripey tops drinkin blue WKD's... oooo you must be well hard mate... go nail that disease ridden slag under your arm and die.

I bet its worse here in Cardiff, on the weekends town becomes flooded with chavs from the valleys!

A major hurricane (Hurricane Shazza) and

earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter Scale

hit Portsmouth in the early hours of Friday with

its epicentre in Cosham. Victims were seen

wandering around aimlessly, muttering

"faaackinell".

The hurricane decimated the area causing

approximately £30 worth of damage.

Several priceless collections of mementos

from Majorca and the Costa Del Sol were

damaged beyond repair.

Three areas of historic burnt out cars were

disturbed. Many locals were woken well before

their giros arrived. Power FM reported that

hundreds of residents were confused and

bewildered and were still trying to come to

terms with the fact that something

interesting had happened in Cosham.

One resident - Tracy Sharon Smith, a

15-year-old mother of 5 said, "It was such a

shock, my little Chardonnay-Mercedes came

running into my bedroom crying. My youngest

two, Tyler-Morgan and Megan-Storm slept

through it all. I was still shaking when I

was skinning up and watching 'Trisha' the

next morning."

Apparently looting, muggings and car crime

were unaffected and carried on as normal.

The British Red Cross has so far managed to

ship 4,000 crates of Sunny Delight to the

area to help the stricken locals. Rescue

workers are still searching through the

rubble and have found large quantities of

personal belongings, including benefit books,

jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos and

Bone China from Poundland.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

This appeal is to raise money for food and

clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough

to be caught up in this disaster. Clothing is

most sought after - items most needed

include:

Fila or Burberry baseball caps

Kappa tracksuit tops (his and hers)

Shell suits (female)

White sport socks

Rockport boots

Any other items usually sold in Primark.

Food parcels may be harder to come by, but

are needed all the same.

Required foodstuffs include:

Microwave meals, Tins of baked beans, Ice

cream, Cans of Colt 45 or Special Brew.

REMEMBER

22p buys a biro for filling in the

compensation forms.

£2 buys chips, crisps and blue fizzy drinks

for a family of 9.

£5 buys B&H and a lighter to calm the nerves

of those affected.
