Seagate 3 TB usb 3 external drive

I bought A Seagate Backup Plus 3TB usb 3 external drive about 2 months ago and last night I guess it died. It installed just fine when I got it and now my system sees the drive letter but that's all, I can't access anything on it.I kept getting warnings saying I have to format it to access it. I have Acronis disk Director 11 and it said it was raw . I tried to reinstall it but got the same results so I guess it 's dead.
Has anyone else had issues with Seagate drives?

I usually get Western Digital drives and thought I would give Seagate a try.

I had an issue with my usb's not being recognised not the same thing as the usb was only 16GB I turned out it was samsung kies software blocking the system recognising my usb I had to do CTRL+Alt-Delete and kill the kies processes in task manager and that for the drive visible again

Do you have a Samsung Phone?

If you can see the drive letter I would say it's not dead I have a 2TB Seagate and had no issues have you tried it on another system or laptop or maybe update the drivers.
