I think im gonna go for an LSI Logic MegaRAID SCSI 320-2E, one hell of a price though :(

Actually, the LSI cards are usually quite good - plus you are way below the $1000 mark that is normal for these things - proper raid is very very dear.

good find.

I think mine is just normal (old) PCi...

Well I'll find out soon enough. I'm hoping to run in RAID-0, I hope it works though.

Ive been informed that the PCI-X cards are backwards compatible sot it will work with our normal PIC slots.

Does anyone know if there is anywahere in the UK that sells rounded internal SCSI 320 cables...?

************** removed as the Animal has gone to that place and yes we should refrain from linking to competing sites, but I guess as the information was required it was left for a short period just to satisfy the requirment. Thanks Alanore for your assistance, we were all struggling on this one.

HD TACH RESULTS 2x74GB RAPTORS in RAID0

As promised to Animal a few days back heres the 8m short test and 32m long test results:

Sooooo, anyone know how to set these SCSI fellas up? :?

I have a SCSI 320 PCi controller and two 73GB drives I would like to install in my system. I'm assuming I just have to hit F5 (is it F5?) when installing windows then install the drivers?

Can this be done from CD?

Will it give me the choice to setup in RAID-0?

I think it's F4 IIRC. Although you usually set up raid from a seperate interface.

It's F6 lol - not sure about botting from CD though -I had to use floppy, but thats coz my drivers were on floppy and I did not check to see is other options were available.

On the NF4 chip is allows you to set-up RAID before you do windows, it's program is built inot the BIOS - maybe your CD will allow you to do the same?

Well, I'm off home this weekend - so will try it when I get back next week. It'll be a busy week for both the peltier project and the fan test.

Is it possible to have windows on a SATA drive, then somehow install from that onto the SCSI's?
