Save PSU brands

Hello!
I remember that Tom mentioned a few save brands of power supplies in one of his videos not too long ago. Now that is very valuable information but I forgot to bookmark the video and can't find it again (It's not in the AX1500i review). Would be great if someone could direct me to the video, even better with the time when he mentions it. Thanks in advance! :)

To add a little to the list:
- Fractal Design
- Super Flower
- PC Power and Cooling

- BeQuiet!
- Antec
- Silverstone

Always do your research and find out who the OEM behind the unit is. Most PSUs are not made by the company that sells them. Also, pay attention to the warranty procedures of the company you're buying it from.

Yes, that's it! Thanks a lot! It's good to have some brands which you can recommend no matter the model. As for the other brands - not sure if they have one or two black sheep in their lineup, so for general recommendations I'd rather stick to Toms recommendations.

This is very important as a lot of brands use different OEMs for different series. It's always best to check before you buy something.

I see, I'll consider that if the need arises - it's good to have a point of reference for recommendations.
As for me - right now I'm running a Corsair CX600m and considering that I had very little money to spend when I bought it, it seems to be a good choice. Judging from most reviews at least ripple/noise seem to be pretty good for the price point. I'm also pretty happy with the 3 year warranty.

Ya gotta look at the OEM more than the brand. One brand can use different OEM's to build their PSU's like Cooler Master for example. Most of their power supplies aren't that great but their latest line is built by Seasonic and is excellent. EVGA has had some stinkers too but their newest G2 line is built by Superflower and may be one of the best on the market dollar for dollar.

Alright! Good infos, guys, thanks a lot! This knowledge will definately come in handy.

Okay, sry for the double post but the topic actually peaked my interested a little bit more. Now I found this site which lists most PSU manufacturers + OEMs so now I'm wondering how the different OEMS are quality wise. I know that seasonic, superflower and enermax are pretty much the no nonsense but also pretty expensive way to go but there are other OEMS like HEC, CWT, FSP, Greatwall and sirtec just to name a few which I never even heard of. So I'd love to know which ones you would recommend and why.

Corsair would be my go to choice with my own money every single time. Always have been even before reviewing.

After that - Seasonic - NZXT

Corsair are usually a safe bet however they seem to have released a couple of less liked ranges of psus. As always, check the OEM before you buy.

Alright, thx, that definately makes me feel good about my own choice ;) but out of pure interest I'd love to know how the other OEMs fare. Like BeQuiet for example is insanely popular here in germany - I personally think that those are quite overpriced but I can't really make an educated guess about it. I know that they have three different OEMs for their stuff - it's HEC and FSP for the Pure and straight power and seasonic for their top of the line Darkpower stuff but I have no idea what to make of HEC or FSP.

FSP are basically decent from what I've heard. A few hiccups but I presume most of their stuff these days are acceptable.HEC stuff is far from perfect. Not the worst by far, but still not acceptable.
(I'm not 100%, this is just what I've found from stuff when I looked at PSUs for my build)

That's exactly what I read in some forums as well but I'm never sure what to believe because it's always just some general hear say. Not sure if it's enough to not hear anything really positive about brands like HEC or others but I'd rather know more than that to form a proper opinion about it - it's all a bit thin.
