SATA Promise150 on Asus SK8N

Just wondering if there is a way to install SATA drivers after my O/S?

I have my nice O/S Raptor, and have plugged it up, powered on, and it is recognised in the BIOS. After powering up I can get up to the bit where it asks if I want to run Safe Mode or Normal etc... I can select any and it goes to loads but just resets everytime.

I think this is due to not having the Promise SATA 150 drivers installed on this Raptor O/S drive - is there a way I can install them on it now in this machine??

Slightly off topic but how come you have a Socket 940 board? I thought you wer all Intel?!?

Is there something you've been hiding in the form of an old FX53 or 51?? :D

No, no, just another toy to help with the learning of this AMD business!

It actually appears to use the same SATA chip as the one which drives the RAID on my P4C800-E Deluxe.

I have tired the F6 and installed the SATA, yet after that I get a blue screen saying there are no drives attached and to exit!

What to do now?! :? (try another driver on the floppy, maybe?)

Im not sure what u mean...

You have taken a drive with an OS on it and plugged it into a new set of hardware? - unless you luck out, there are normally problems assosiated with doing this.

Are you sure windows is booting from the drive you think, it sounds a little like its seeing the right mrb but then refuseing to boot beacuse the os drive has mooved....

or have i misunderstood you completely ? :p
