It is not AMD, it is retailers (and potentially AIBs) just responding to the insane demand.

This is a stupid situation, but alas it is what is happening right now.

Ah well leave them to it the greedy pigs. There goes my cheap replacement or stand in for the Fury X or Titan X if either of them pack up, though.

Having said that they are both under water, so should last longer than a standard air cooled GPU.

They screwed the market much more this year than the last time this happened which was 2013 with the AMD 200 series cards

D'you know what though? if AMD can get loads of cash out of a low end GPU like this then fair play. I mean at the end of the day it keeps them in the GPU market and stops Nvidia from doubling their prices.

Not really. They get initial surge in revenue, but if everything is out of stock, they can't sell anything. It's better to have a consistent flow than bursts.
Nvidias prices are inflated now and have been for a week due to how long it's taking for AMD to create more stock

Not looked at Nvidia prices lately. Mind you, other than Ryzen stuff I've not looked at anything for months. Well out of the game now. Only looked at Ryzen to help my mate out.
