Thank you for such a great review. It was very nice to see a review that does not come out of a can like so many others I have seen on the net.
I really like the fact that you mentioned looking at changing your case exhaust to see if there was any difference. I found by accident, I can lower my Fury temps by up to 15C if I would let my rad fans run at full speed.

Suggestion exploring the aspect of undervolting and adjusting the powerlimit
The fannoise seems horrid and you bring up the idea that the cooler isn't able to disappate heat generated. Did you explore if the card had a potensial of undervolting/redusing the power limit (into the negatives) on the stock factory boost (13xx)? This is an aspect I've seen u explore in CPU reviews with you adjusting the voltage settings from "auto" to a manual one and could be a worthy aspect to explore in GPU reviews too (especially if the cooler can't compe with the heat).
Say if u were able to do this (like minus some voltage and a few % less on the powerlimit) and still maintain the boost (13xx). (I'd recommend that u explain this consept with a way to illustrate to your audience how to test if your undervolted setting are stable (an example would be a unigene benchmark in windowed mode with gpu-z watching the core clock and later a 3dmark vantage run(to be really sure about stability)).
I'm sure it would help on the heatgeneration and the conclution could've been the same with something like this added "but if you are willing to make some adjustments to the power% and core voltage (ofc your mileage may vary) you could bring the heatlevels down to a level where the cooler can match it at a more enjoyable fanspeed."
My reasoning obviously rely on that the following statement(s) are true:
- The stock settings (voltage, power%) on the card doesn't put it on the brink of being able to cope with the factory boost (13xx). And it therefore has room for undervolting/adjusting the power% at the factory OC.
Even if the factory settings puts it on the brink of being able to cope with the factory boost and it therefore is very little room to adjust voltage/power% it'd still be great information to have if you were on the fence of buying one.
