Sapphire officially announces their RX Vega Nitro+ series of graphics cards

WTF!!! 3x 8 pin conector?? even the GTX 1080ti has no more than 1 x 8 pin and 1 x 6 pin connector, and is faster than this vega 64 nitro+.

OMG......

So Tom's Hardware actually has a review up for the Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 Nitro+.
The following are their pros and cons:
Pros:
  • Fast
  • Much quieter than AMD's reference version
  • Runs much cooler than AMD's reference version
  • Configurable RGB lighting
Cons:
  • Odd performance anomalies with AMD's latest drivers (in some games it had lower mins and averages compared to the reference design)
  • Expensive compared to Nvidia-based competition (660USD MSRP)
  • Uncertain availability

At OCUK it costs £750 on pre-order, A 1080 Ti Gaming X costs £730 not on offer which wipes the floor with it.

AMD and board partners have messed up immensely.

You know I notice that at a number of places they actually bothered to put the "Limited Edition" label on it so I wonder if that is just a joke about a lack of availability or if that is because they actually desire to release a version with lower clocks for a cheaper price later down the line.

I am so happy that I did not wait for Vega...

I have just literally sold my current gaming rig with the Zotac AMP Extreme 1080ti - x99. Now looking to build a new one, with the prices and performance of the AMD VEGA cards then its NOT even an option.

Will chose yet again a 1080ti. Its a shame as I wanted AMD to be AT LEAST competetive against Nvidia. Guess it will never happen this time around with VEGA.

There is no way I would pay £750 for a Vega card the RX56 version is £560 which is totally overpriced. Give it a year and you will get one for half of what they are now.
