Samsung SM951 (and SSD storage question)

Hi all

@TTL any plans to reveiw the new samsung m.2 SSD (SM951)?

The reason i'm asking is I want to squeeze some more performance out of my gaming rig and was considering getting 2 identical SSDs to put in a RAID on my x99 deluxe but i have also been toying with the idea of getting a pcie SSD as the mobo supports it from the mobo slot (no effing clue at this point how to do this without fucking everything up).

Can't justify a phoenix blade or similar so i guess my question is:

Would a single pcie ssd m.2 be faster/better solution than getting 2 cheaper SATA SSDs and raid them?

i was going to say something along the lines of isnt an ssd faste nough for ya.

then i seen ya sig...

not much is fast enough for you eh!!!

update on this and a request for info. I ordered another pny 240 GB ssd to match the 240 i have in there already (storage not boot drive) and wanted to ask if anyone has specific info on how to setup a raid array on the X99 deluxe and what ports i should be plugging the drives into.

When i setup the machine i just plugged the 2 drives into ports 1 and 2 (separate cables as when i tried them on the same cable with ,multiple connectors the drives didn't pick up).
I read the manual all the way through but the setup help is less than helpful. So if i set up the raid what is the best config for performance on the deluxe?

UPdate: Got the new SSD installed, had a couple of probs getting it to boot as windows didn't like that i had blanked my storage drive to create the raid so i switched the boot drive to the AHCI controller and left the 2 raid drives on the Intel controller.

Took a bit more trial and error than i would have liked but satisfying to see those speeds after :)
