Samsung SM951 512GB M.2 Review

wow thats real nice, what gpus and what fans? I wish i got the msi 970, but i bought the kfa2 overclockers one for coil whine free and it whines lol, love the 0db fan mode on the msi gpus. and they look class.

msi r9 290x video cards, fans are all the corsair white af120s and af140s. except the radiator fans in push/pull are corsairs white led sp120s for high static pressure

thats also using the xp941 which isn't a pci-e 3.0 x4 ssd in that article

its only a pci-e 2 x4 or gen 2 as its also called

Is there any way to use some adapters on older mother board with pci-e 1-1 , or buy some cheaper mother board to use almost maximum of this ssd speed?

if you have the ahci version then maybe, but then you run into problems with booting into windows setup with it and it would run god awful slow, you might as well just buy a much cheaper regular m.2 solution at that point

yes that motherboard would work but its limited to 10gb/s for its m.2 slot. where as pci-e gen 3 m.3 slots are full 32gb/s

no the motherboards with gen2 support like the one you posted are measured in Gb/s

10 Gb/s is equal to roughly 1250 MB/s

small b to big B

so the performance is about half in any motherboard thats gen2 or 10Gb/s.

versus a motherboard that its m.2 slot runs at gen 3 or 32Gb/s roughly 4000 MB/s

Thanks for info!:)

The cheapest solution is this moteher board for 300$
asus.com/us/Motherboards/X99A/

I cant find anything cheaper, for using at full performance ssd, so I will need to build whole new PC.

Also I thinking about this processor for this mother board: Intel Core i7-5820K @ 3.30GHz

And it will cost a lot of money;/

cheapest motherboard for intel would be the asrock x99 extremem3 its just under $200

for a cpu the 5820k does have much fewer pci lanes. so if you plan on running or ever run more then 1 video card and the fast m.2 you might run into problems. so thats the reason i bought the 5930k. it has full 40 lanes of pci

perhaps hes referring to new motherboards ie z170 having multiple m.2 ultra slots so you can raid multiple m.2 drives together

Thanks, but what do you think about asrock x99extreme 4?

Also Only one processor with 5930k;/ and cost below 600$

And what about this one ?

What about ASrock extreme 4 ? Is it better than 3? Not big difference in price.

Is any processor with 5830K but cheper than 400$?

the extreme4 comes in a few flavors. they sell a usb 3.1 version and a non 3.1 version at some resellers

the 5930k is the cheapest full pci-e lanes. the 5820k will work just not if your populating with 2 graphics cards and a full speed m.2 storage solution

cheapest major reseller online right now for that cpu seems to be micro center at $499 but thats also for in store pickup only.

Hi all :)
Just built new rig including this so called super fast M.2 ssd but got really slow boot ups of around 1 minute! can anyone help pretty please with sugar on top??
Within windows it does say it does 2200 reads and 1200 writes under crystal disk mark so don't know why it's soooo slow to boot / load up windows.
Video link to boot up below.
PC specs
i7 5820k

Looks like youre loading a LOT of stuff at boot fella, most of the delay there is the OS just sorting itself out
