Samsung slide suggests that they will create the SSDs used within next-gen consoles

A well needed hardware change. Will be interesting to see if these are any good or if they have had so many costs cut a pc user wouldn't touch them, assuming they will use standard slot connections.
Secondly this is going to make your console cost a fortune to upgrade memory, I mean the new COD is over 100gb's and i'd rather have more than a handful of games on a console before I have to start deleting others.

Looking forward to seeing what Samsung actually do as the Spiderman loading video a while back was very impressive.

This is why games going forward, Especially games like CoD that people mainly buy for the multiplayer, Should have 3 options upon install -

1. Full game
2. Single Player Only
3. Multiplayer Only

This way people could save a lot on storage.

That's a bloody good shout.

Weirdly enough, that's how 2007's CoD4:Modern Warfare was packaged/installed on PC

It annoys me that the PC games don't do that anymore. The New COD on Battle.net lacks that option.

New Xbox titles have a similar thing, where the Xbox One X quality textures are not downloaded by Xbox One (original or S) players to save space. Basically, it's like how PC games sometimes have an "download high-resolution textures" option.

Some games already do this and it was a new feature launched alongside new consoles. Just not used much.

I just find it annoying having to download 100GB+, Like CoD, Gears etc... when half of that is multiplayer that I will never touch, Waste of bandwidth.

You've obviously never read the steam community comments, with the obligatory 100 threads of why does this game not have MP nobody plays single player games anymore :)
